What can lots of content do for your site?

Today there are so many web sites on the web, but so few of them have good content and there are even fewer web sites that have large amounts of content. Why is the web like this? For one most webmasters are trying to make a quick buck and others don't know where to begin or are too lazy to do the work.

Content really is king! Why? because visitors will stay longer or will come back more often and they are more likely to buy from your business. Visitors know you are an expert in your site's topic because you write informative articles, which leads the visitor to trust your business more. And to your visitors it's all about trust because if they can't trust your business, how can they trust the product/service you sale or how can they even know that they will receive the product/service.

Most of the time before an Internet surfer buys a product they will search the web to get more information about it. Sometimes they are just looking to see how it really works or maybe they want to know more about a certain feature. If you write articles about your products, surfers are more likely to find your web site in the search engine and you may even steal a few sales from your competitor, which will result in more sales for you!

Having a site with great and informative information will make another site owners more likely to link to your web site. Think about it! Would you link to a site that just had their products and service web pages? Or would you link to a web site that has great content that will help your visitors? If you are like most webmasters you would chose the 2nd one because this will benefit your web site because it helps the visitors know more about your products.

Search engines such as Google and Yahoo! love themed sites! Having a good themed web site means your ranking is more likely to rank higher than other web sites. Not only does this help out your site's theme, but also allows you to target more keywords. Surfers will find these web pages when searching the web and will result in more sales.

How To Be A Web Content Provider!

Would you be happy with reaching literally millions of people by being a web content provider. Whatever you're selling, it would be nice if you could do this on a regular basis, FOR FREE, through a large number of other people's ezines and web sites, wouldn't it?

Well this is what you can be doing when you start writing content and articles for the countless online newsletters, ezines and webpages that are looking for your input. One thing common to all Internet publishers is that they are all looking for good articles to publish.

If you can be a content provider of interesting and informative articles for them you stand a good chance of getting included in their web site/next publication. However you probably won't get included if it is simply a sales letter disguised as an article. But if you can provide good quality and informative web content you can often be their savior.

Then, they will give you what you need in exchange. They will give you exposure for your business...

How Web Content Providers Benefit:

The publisher will actually expect you to include a small advert at the end of the content you provide. This will get published along with the article itself, and is seen as a fair exchange for the content you have provided. It's how you benefit from the deal!

This small ad is usually referred to as a "resource box", but you can put almost anything you like in here so long as it is only a few lines long. You are free to advertise whatever you are promoting. You could point people back to your web site, affiliate program, or tell them how to subscribe to your own newsletter etc.

If you're like most web content providers you probably don't consider yourself a writer. It doesn't matter, it is your knowledge that's important. What do you know about your industry? If a friend who understands very little about your specialist subject was to ask you about something related to that industry, what would you say. Write it down. You don't have to write like an English professor. If fact this would put a lot of people off from reading all your article. To be a good web content provider you should write as you speak, be down to earth and user-friendly.

The Internet often seems so impersonal. Your readers are seeking someone who is real, so why not write as a real person in a conversational manner.

Have a think and try to choose a hot online topic. Look at the articles from other magazines and newsgroups in your industry. A good web content provider should write about current subjects that you're pretty sure will interest people.

The title is important and should grab people's attention otherwise they may never read the rest of the article. If they don't read the article, they won't see your resource box. Therefore have a good think about the title and live with it for a few days until you feel you cannot improve it.

For the actual web content, around 500 words is a good rule of thumb. Try not to be too long winded. Most users will do a quick scroll to see how long the article is before reading. If it's too long or too short you may lose them. People don't like to read for too long online so stick to the point.

At the end of the article add your resource box info. You will receive the best results if you can include a short message related to the article you have just written.

If you have impressed readers with your expertise, there's a good chance they will want to learn more about you and what else you can offer them.

Just like with the headline, you'll need to leave your article for a short while, and "sleep on it". Come back to it the next day and edit it. Improve parts that you then feel could be made a little better. It's amazing what a short rest will do for the creative process.

Once you're happy and cannot improve the article any more, now it's time to submit to ezine publishers. Below I have provided a list of places that ezine publisher look to find the articles of web content providers. If you can get your article published at these web sites, getting into many ezines should be the logical outcome.

Remember, this process could get you huge targeted exposure, so it's well worth the effort - and it costs you nothing but your time.

Best wishes for your future.

Google's New Sitemaps - It does use XML technology which allows for the crawling and updating of your site's web pages. You can even include your entire web site (all urls) with this indexing program. For anyone targeting the search engines, especially Google, this program (still in beta) is a MUST HAVE.

Personal Blog - Anyone can start a blog! Not just anyone! There are some requirements, some more obvious than others. Obviously, you need a computer that you know how to use, an Internet connection and some experience using the Internet. You also need a host for your blog; there are blog hosts that are free and some that cost a small amount per month.

Content Management - We are down to the home stretch. You've got your Ezine laid out, you have gotten some good content for it and now you want to put the whole thing together in a nice neat little package with a pretty bow so that your readers will have an experience that they can honestly say was worth the zero cents they paid to subscribe.

Blogging Community - The internet is brimming with articles, ebooks and hype about using blogs in conjunction with Google's Adsense program as a means of generating revenue. The formula for success, it seems, is simple. You blog, you place ads, you get traffic, visitors click on the ads and you get paid.

Blogging Adsense - Anyone from my farmer Grandmother to the beggar on the street can have their own online business. The easiest way to start one’s own internet business is to sign up as an affiliate and sell a company’s services or wares for a commission.

Keywords Content - I've said many times that content is more important than visual design, yet as a developer, I find myself nit-picking over the visual layout of my web sites. Just this morning, I spent 2 hours trying to make a menu bar move up one pixel. It takes a truly great developer to say "the design is done." Unfortunately, we fall short of that ideal far too often.

Business Blogs - Rob Benwell, a high school dropout has really got himself an ebook to be proud of. Blogging to the Bank is the name of this unbelievable ebook Blogging to The Bank is for those who want to make a lot of money online, but who are on a tight budget.

Paid Content - But their "expertise" is an admixture of guesswork, superstitions, anecdotal "evidence" and hearsay. The sad truth is that no methodical, long term, and systematic research has been attempted in the nascent field of e-publishing and, more broadly, digital content on the Web. So, no one knows to say for sure whether free content sells, when, or how.

Content Sites - Choosing the right Search Engine Optimization (SEO) content writer can be a challenging task, because there are so many different styles and writers from which you can select. However, you don't want to just select any SEO content writer, because you need to make sure that the job is done right.
