To market an eBook successfully there must be a benefit to the user. Putting a novel for example, into an eBook does not necessarily guarantee its success. Just because a reader needs an electronic device to read a book doesn't mean that there's any benefit to be derived from it. If the ebook does not in some way offer an enhancement to the reader, then the value of the ebook could be less than in its printed format. Generally, most people do not like to read large amounts of text on a computer screen. In fact, some computer users prefer to print out lengthy online articles and then read them. Many people spend much of their work day in front of a computer screen; they don't turn to a computer screen for reading pleasure.
Portability is an issue. Even small notebooks and handheld computers are not as portable as a paperback. Reading while lounging on a sandy beach can prove to be hazardous to an electronic device. You can't snuggle up in bed with a computer all that comfortably. And then there's that 'touch-feely' thing. Many readers really like the tactile sensation of turning a page with their fingers. You can't do this with a computer. About the Writer of this ArticleScott F. McClenon amerieric@hotmail.com (206)679-0648 The Importance of Content"The content is very important". It's true that this line has become monotonous, but you would still hear it more often from all the marketing icons. The reason is quite plain and simple; when you have a web presence, Content is the thing that attracts customers and retains their attention. It is the one and only mean, which would bring customers to your web site and turn leads into sales through all your advertising campaigns. This is what you are selling, and you should hit right on the bull's eye for it. No place of compromise when it comes to content of your web site. Scott F. Geld is the Marketing Director of MarketingBlaster.com, a company providing targeted traffic and leads: http://www.MarketingBlaster.com Writing Your Body ContentIt is said that search engines like to see a certain amount of words in the body of your html page. That is true, if you don't have a certain amount of words in the body, then that page will not be considered a viable page. And not just any words, making your content relevant to your site is the key. In order to achieve the right balance, apply some common sense and think it through.
Sometimes it can be difficult to come up with content that might help describe a certain aspect of your business. Looking at other sites on the internet is always a good place to browse for ideas. Keeping in mind that you are only browsing. You might look at ten different sites and pull ideas from each of them. Once you do this, you will find that your limits will be broaden when it comes to placing the right kind of words on your web page. Here is a simple example of how a person might increase relevant content on a web page. Keep the word relevant in mind. Let's say you have a flower shop and you sale flowers from your web site. Your site is up and running and seems to be generating some traffic. The site contains a description of your business page, a services offered page, a store and an order form page. What do you think is the most important section of this site? I would say the store is. So let's see how we can increase content that is relevant for that page or section of your web site. note: Just because the store might be the most important section of the site does not mean that other parts of your site are less important. Currently when you go to the store you see: a picture of a flower on the left and the name of the flower and price on the right side of the picture. This is repeated for each flower as you scroll down the page. As I look at this page I realize that a lot more can be down by means of content. We will move the name of the flower and price to the bottom of the picture, on the right side we will have a two to three sentence paragraph that will describe the flower in a manner that is enticing, prompting the reader to look back at the picture to make the purchase. Having a short description for each item will build body content in a short time period. Using this method which I call "Item Identification" will also allow you to create more pages. Indexing three pages compared to one is better when you submit to search engines and just by adding a short description for each item will increase your traffic after you submit your revised pages. Hey, please visit the Internet Marketing web sites: Recently Added Internet Related Articles: Quality Content - If you read my last article, you know about Chitika and the new eMiniMalls that are popping up everywhere on the web. You can serve up relevant product ads to your users, and let them search for other products without leaving the comfort and safety of your web page. I was asked recently about how to add Chitika ads to your Blogger blog, so I thought I'd take some time to write up exactly how this is done. Blog Search Engine - First and formost what is a Blog? A blog is basically a journal that is available on the web. The activity of updating a blog is "blogging" and someone who keeps a blog is a "blogger." The growth of blog usage over the last year has been incrediable. Blog readership increased from 17% of internet users to 27% in just 9 months. The number of blog authors has increased from 3% in July 2002, 5% at the beginning of 2004, and 7% by late November 2004. Web Content Theft - There is of course a huge amount to learn in setting up and running a Web Site, which is why, I believe, that most newcomers tend to put their trust in a web designer, aka webmaster and leave them to get on with things hoping that all will go well. Big Mistake! Content Writer - Submitting articles to article directories is a great way to increase traffic to your web site, promote your product and establish yourself as an expert in your field. Its also an easy and effect way to gain backlinks to your web site, especially if you have an established site with original content. Online Ventures Blogging - First, it's extremely easy to add information to it. A blog is like an online journal, so you just log in, type what happened today, post it, and you're done! Second (this is the really cool part) you can add a simple little feature that automatically tells a whole bunch of other web sites that you've made an update to your blog -- every time you make a change! Targeted Content - According to SearchEngineWatch.com, a recent survey of businesses using the Internet as a primary marketing tool reported that only 11% said SEO gave a lower return on investment than search advertising. More importantly, 35% said that SEO was more valuable in terms of return on investment than paid advertisement. Content Hungry - 1. One of the best ways to generate no cost traffic is by submitting ready-made articles to "content hungry" web-site and newsletter publishers with your "resource box" attached. A resource box is nothing more than a little 3-6 line "bio" about you and/or your web-site - including a link to your site (or even instructions on how to subscribe to your newsletter)... Inbound Links - Acquiring inbound links is an ongoing job. If you haven't worked on this aspect of SEO recently, some newer sites are probably good candidates for a link exchange or one-way links to your site. Start by looking at who's linking to your competitors' sites, and look for other sites with related but not competing content. Annual Web Content - I'm an internet marketer just like you are, so I know how crazy things can get. Trying trying trying for better page rank, all the time. Emails flying in from everywhere and you just can't keep up. Juicy network posts distracting you again. Server trouble, client rush jobs... Articles on the web
