How To Use Content To Pre-Sell Your Website Visitors

All computer users have one common trait. They are all motivated by the desire for more knowledge about the subject they wish to investigate. Given this fact, you as a business owner must deliver the right information to your web site visitors that satisfies their need to know about your product.

If Mary finds the information she needs on your web site, she will send an email to her good friend Sue, who in turn passes it along to others, and the information will find its way to the person who needs it most via word of mouth. This end user is called a "customer".

To attract more "customers" you have to post information on your web site that describes your product well. Only you know the best way to describe your product, the benefits of using it, the features that make it better than your competition's product, and the advantage of your low price, right?

You definitely must include this information. But there is one thing that is usually missing from the content that webmasters provide their visitors.

You have to put your visitors in the mood to buy your product!

Computer users are notorious for being fast "clickers". If you don't interest them in wanting to buy your product from the onset, you will lose them fast, if not sooner.

Consider including the following things in your front page content:

1. Include a picture of your product. A picture is worth a thousand words.

When the visitor sees exactly what they will be buying, this usually cements the sale in their mind from the beginning of their decision making process. Then the visitor will "read on" subconsciously trying to find any reason why they should not buy it. Good advice is to not let them read anything in your content that distracts them from making the purchase.

2. Provide relevant details about the product. For example,

"Product X has all the capabilities to stop your troublesome pop-ups for good!"

RSSUnderground Editor's Tip! Hey - do you want to have a free hosted web site that you can use for anything you want? I do not make any money from telling you this - just the satsisfaction of knowing I am helping my fellow webmasters and marketers find quality free web hosting! Check it out! It's worth it - it's free!

Then you have to provide back up information that supports your claim. Write a sufficient amount of information but don't include anything that might make them decide against buying your product.

3. Inject the desire for the visitor to become your "customer" right now.

By offering your prospective customer a price/deal that they just can't pass up will lead to more sales. And it will lend credibility to your business. The word will get out about this fantastic offer.

4. Ask them to buy now. They want your product, but the instructions for how to buy it must be clearly laid out. This final step is the most important one to do every time you write your content.

So as you see, the mind of the consumer is already made up when they go on their computer to find a "Product X". You simply have to provide a way for them to get to your web site, by linking, by advertising, or some other means. Then provide a concise "picture in their mind" of the fantastic offer before them.

What is Good Conten

Having good content is an essential in the evolvement of any web site. A lot of businesses like to keep it simple; they advise visitors of what their company is about, they explain what they have to offer and a way to communicate with them.

On the other hand, some have trouble with the content and don't know where to begin. The following article will give you a few pointers on how to write quality content for your webpage.

1. Entertain

Entertaining your visitors is always a good thing. For instance, if your site is merchandising hairstyles, you might want to post various hairstyle pictures, give tips on how to have healthy hair, have a forum where visitors can post comments and photos, etc.

Entertaining your clients is a good way to get their attention.

2. The Business

People are always interested in hearing what's new about your web site. So keep your content interesting and up to date and clients will keep coming back for more.

3. Your Knowledge

Put up information and articles on your web site that demonstrates that you know what you're talking about. Show that you are familiar with your company and product.

If you can pass as an expert in the field of your industry, it can increase the reliability of your business as a whole.

4. The Product

A web site is the best place to offer elaborate products that would require learning on the part of the client. It's important to tell them about the benefits instead of the features without confusing the visitors with technicalities; a "Frequently asked questions" section is a great way to solve this problem.

5. The Big Picture

Don't forget about your marketing strategy, your business plan and your goals. Remember how you plan to place yourself and your business in the marketing world.

6. The Competition

Always ask yourself this question: What are my competitors contributing that I am not? If your competitor is offering something that you are obviously lacking, don't be afraid to look at what it is. Just remember to not copy it, but instead build on it and make something original.

In conclusion, following these few simple does not guarantee you a successful web site but it is a good start for anyone who wants to have good content

Google Duplicate Content Filter for SEO - The Good

The much maligned Google duplicate content filter is generally the bane of most sites. There is, however, one way to use it to your advantage.

Google Duplicate Content Filter for SEO - The Good

The Google duplicate content filter is a relatively new, annoying aspect. Essentially, Google now eliminates multiple listings on sites carrying the same content. This typically occurs with distributed articles. For instance, 100 sites may pick up and publish this article. Because the content on each site is the same, Google will only include a modest number of said pages in the search results it returns.

The aggravating thing about the filter is it apparently is not tuned to create an exception for the original work. If I publish this article on my site, Google may or may not include it in the index of sites, to wit, it may get filtered out. This is the particular part of the content filter that drives people crazy. Alas, there is one way to use the duplicate filter to your advantage.

Assume you have a relatively new site or simply have not achieved the rankings you had hoped for in your optimization efforts. Now assume you have a timing sensitive site such as a product line devoted to Christmas sales, Valentine's Day and so on. You can take advantage of the rankings of other sites to get your product in front of viewers.

The key is to write an optimized article for the keyword you want get rankings on in the relevant search engine. For instance, assume I sell outdoor gifts, but have no rankings at the beginning of summer when my market gets cranking. I will go ahead and write an article optimized for this keyword phrase and including mention of my brand or product line. I am not suggesting a sales piece, just an informative article with a passing mention of my brand. The article byline should then include a link to my site.

By taking this approach, I can piggy back my article on the rankings of other sites that already appear high in Google, Yahoo and MSN. The Google filter actually helps, because it tends to focus on the sites with the best ranking. If one of my articles is on said sites, up it goes.

If this strategy sounds interesting, there is one serious downside you need to keep in mind. Once your article is distributed, there situation is set. If you obtain rankings down the line, you are going to have to really work to outrank your own articles appearing on other sites.

Google Duplicate Content Filter for SEO - The Bad

Many people use article distribution as a technique for building inbound links to their site. For many, this strategy has run into problems because of the Google duplicate content filter.

Google Duplicate Content Filter for SEO - The Bad

Google is often touted as the leader in search engine technology and processes. In many cases, this is absolutely true. One fairly recent change, however, has proven to be a serious goof by the boys and girls at Google.

In an interesting move, Google has begun using a duplicate content filter to eliminate excessive listings based on the same content. In practical terms, this means Google filters out many of the pages on various sites that are reflective of a single article pulled out of an article directory. If 500 people pick up and publish this article, for instance, Google will filter out a majority of the pages on these sites that publish it. Lucky me.

Personally, I don't really have a problem with the duplicate filter as it theoretically should work. There is, however, one major problem. As any article writer knows, Google seems unable or unwilling to differentiate the original content source from those sites that pick up and publish the article. In many cases, this means your site is one that gets filtered out. This leads to the odd situation where this article on my site does not get indexed by Google, but other sites using it do! In a twist of the usual situation, Yahoo and MSN seem to be able to tell the difference.

If you are publishing articles, there is really only one way to beat this problem as far as I can tell. The articles you submit to directories should not include the keywords you are focusing on. Modified versions that focus on a particular keyword phrase then should be put on your site. Finding the dividing line between what makes these two pages duplicates is not an easy step, but it is often worth a quick re-write. Re-writing is, of course, much easier than coming up with the original content.

In truth, article writers should have been taking this approach prior to the duplication filter being instituted by Google. The reason, of course, has to do with the nature and rankings of the article directories. The big directories are valued highly by Google, so submitting any keyword intense article leads to problems with or without the filter. The primary issue is the article in the directory will outrank the similar one on your site.

At this point, the Google duplication filter is just something we have to live with. One can hope Google will make a tweak so it can recognize the original work, but this may just be wishful thinking.

Content Hungry - 1. One of the best ways to generate no cost traffic is by submitting ready-made articles to "content hungry" web-site and newsletter publishers with your "resource box" attached. A resource box is nothing more than a little 3-6 line "bio" about you and/or your web-site - including a link to your site (or even instructions on how to subscribe to your newsletter)...

Content Hubs - We've all heard it before: content is king. And it is true. If you own a site, you need to post something interesting that people want to read before you can expect people to stop by. If your site is a content-based web site, then you've already taken a huge step.

Keep Content Fresh - The concept is really simple, if you think about it. The publisher or the webmaster inserts a java script into a certain web site. Each time the page is accessed, the java script will pull advertisements from the Adsense program. The ads that are targeted should therefore be related to the content that is contained on the web page serving the ad.

"External Content - 10) Not setting the stage. An introduction should be more than just ""Hello. Today we'll be discussing _____."" If you just jump into the content without setting up the presentation, it can get you off to a jumpy, disjointed start. An introduction should give the audience a sense of who you are, what you're there to do and what's in it for them to listen."

Content Means - A good CMS system will allow you to update can entire site by making a change one time in the admin that can carry over to all pages of your site. This means you can change the menu, side bar, page bottom, site design, or other sections of your site all at one time. So while some webmasters are changing every page, others can have the task completed in minutes.

Site Map - A lot of web pages will find an SEO sitemap useful in improving their performance. SEO stands for "Search Engine Optimization", the process that aims to create or revise Internet sites so that it can be better found by search engines. The objective of SEO campaigns is to have web sites appear in the top listing or first results page of search engines.

Google Sitemap Generator - A Google Sitemap is a very simple XML document that lists all the pages in your web site, but the Google Sitemaps program is actually much more important than that. In fact, the Sitemaps program provides a little peek inside Google’s mind – and it can tell you a lot about what Google thinks of your web site!

Premium Informative Content - Having high quality content not just attract visitors, it also attracts search engines to visit your sites more and increase your search engine placements. However, in order to get more traffic that can turn into money, you'll need repeat visitors who are eager to read your new update on your content site.
