So it can come as no surprise that latest police statistics reveal that the number of street muggings and robberies increased by 8% last year. Statistics from the British Crime Survey of 45,000 people shows that the number of gunpoint robberies jumped by 10% for 2005. Perhaps the most startling result from the research is that robberies alone have rocketed by 22% to 311,000. This is the highest level in four years. You have a situation where property is being stolen more in public places, but less from homes, according to the numbers, which says the rate of household burglaries dropped by 7%. So is the number of people carrying mobile phones really to blame for the rise in robberies and muggings? Home Secretary John Reid thinks so. He has been reported in the media as saying that the rise in this sort of crime has been driven by the number of young people carrying expensive goods like mobile phones and MP3 players with them. Most mobile phone companies are quite insistent with customers of the benefits of taking out insurance should their phone get stolen. But what many people do not realise is that these policies only usually cover phone theft, rather than the loss of your property. And you often do not actually need this insurance anyway because your property might already be covered for these sort of street thefts through your home contents insurance. Association of British Insurers spokesperson Kelly Ostler says many home contents policies offer an All Risks Extension. An All Risks Extension is the technical term for cover of property taken outside the house. “You have to check your household contents insurance has got it,” she says.
Ostler reminds people, however, that insurance or no insurance, people also need to take simple precautions with their property when they take it outside the home. “We tell people to take care and use your common sense when you are going out – not to leave your mobile phone or your mp3 player on the table or a bar.” You have to pay extra for ‘All-risks’ cover, but it means your property will not only be covered for theft, but accidental damage and loss. And you need to check and compare the price to make sure it is worth your while. Insurance company Endsleigh offers home contents insurance with an All Risks Extension for an annual home and contents policy for almost £280. This covers up to £1000 worth of property taken outside your home. Norwich Union UK offers an annual cover for a minimum of £15,000 worth of property with an All Risks Extension for £260.99. This covers everything inside your home including £6000 for valuables like mobile phones. It also covers £2000 worth of your property away from home. For this you pay a £100 excess. So before you sign up for insurance with your mobile phone company, check you do not already have cover with your home contents provider. You might be pleasantly surprised that you have insurance for your property outside the home already. Great Food with Highest Calcium ContentThere are several kinds of foods that are believed to be ideal source of calcium. However, some are rich in fats that seem unhelpful and can cause negative effects for those people who want to diminish the amount of fats in their body. The most common dairy product that provides a good source of calcium is milk and all its by products such as yogurt and cheese. Typical sources of milk are cow, carabao and goat. Fruits and vegetables are also perfect for your calcium needs. In fact, most of the doctors are recommending habitual eating of the said foods because these are rich in fibers that help cleanse the human body from other components that are not necessary for the processes. Sour fruits that have tolerable acid component are also rich in calcium. For the kids, these are usually given to them in order to maintain stronger bones and teeth. Resources of calcium that can be purchased in the market are also available. Fish such as salmon is not only known for containing calcium but protein as well. The fresh one is better than the canned or processed salmon. On the other hand, if your problem is all about your diet you can try eating foods like grain products. Necessary procedure must always be followed regarding the proper and the right amount of calcium we need to take in our system everyday. Doctors who had previous problems with patients encountering zinc deficiency, assessed that too much intake of calcium can be a major cause for some health problems. The reason behind this is that excessive calcium may hold or obstruct the absorption of iron and zinc into our system. Thus, blockage can be a result of this deficiency. Taking a healthy and balance diet is the best remedy for us to have the sufficient calcium intake everyday. A small amount of foods that have calcium at least found in your three main meals for the day can ensure that you will be free from zinc deficiency. Dietitian and physicians are preparing their versions of diet plan that you can follow in your meal routine per day. In most cases, they determine the kind of foods depending on a certain level or percentage of calcium content. Choose the right kinds of foods for your calcium needs so that you can get rid of the possible deficiency that you will encounter in the future.
When Is A Duplicate Content Legitimate? Many times, the so-called web marketing experts warn us about duplicate contents. They have stressed the fact that duplicate content will trigger a red flag from the search engines like Google. Though it is true that duplicate content is one of the many factors that the search engines abhor, it is equally true that there are cases where duplicate content becomes acceptable. When does a duplicate content becomes acceptable? When is it legitimate to have duplicate content? These kinds of questions and other similar issues regarding duplicate content have caused several issues to arise. Here are some of the instances where duplicate content can somehow be considered as acceptable. When Is Duplicate Content Acceptable? • If a particular site has reprinted or copied a particular content from another site, this will be tolerated as long as the copying site has the right to do it with author credits. • There are webmasters and web site owners who would like to create two pages for the same item. One page would be the standard site page and the other one would be a printer friendly page. This would mean that the two pages would have the same content but it is acceptable. • For reasons that you may not be able to explain, there are cases wherein there appears an odd duplicated page on your site. This usually happens to some sites and this is an honest error. • Duplicate content may be a product of some errors on the site. By errors, I mean the unintentional ones. Reasons Why Search Engines Prevent Duplicate Content • To prevent duplicate content sites on the internet. Online users will not benefit from browsing different sites with exactly the same content. Replicate sites have exactly the same content including titles and even codes. • To avoid what others called scraping – a method used by others to duplicate a particular site. This arouses the issue of copyrights. • To avoid impassive PLR articles for replicated sites. Knowing the duplicate content will cause your site be penalized by the search engines, you must strive to provide your site with unique data and content. This is important not only to avoid penalties but also to build your site’s credibility and image.
Buyers Guide: Content Management SystemsPerhaps the first consideration when choosing a content management solution (CMS) is to determine exactly what it is. Well, imagine your web site is like the house you live in. A web design agency has built this house for you, a web host has fitted the gas and electricity and ensured that the house is large enough for your needs, and graphic designers and copywriters have made the place look good. But what if you want to chuck out some of your old furniture, move things around or update your ageing entertainment system? Doing this on a web site is not as easy as it is in reality, which is why you need a CMS to enable you to do a little spring cleaning and ensure everything is up-to-date and working to the required standard. In other words, a bespoke CMS can facilitate your control of nearly every aspect of your web site so that simple changes can be undertaken quickly and cost effectively. It should also enable you to make the following modifications without bringing in a consultant or specialist:
A good CMS should also mean that you can receive enquiries through an online feedback form, manage your product database, view an online sales chart, download customer details into Microsoft Excel, maintain a secure area for payment details and create administrator accounts with different levels of security access. In addition to this, an advanced CMS gives you detailed user statistics allowing you to see how many people have viewed your web site, when they viewed it, what pages they looked at, which search engine they came from and what they typed into the search engine to get to you. Such data can be shown in both graphical and tabular formats that can be used in company presentations and reports to identify areas of strength on the site and areas where there's room for improvement. As should be clear by now, the great benefit of employing the right CMS is that it enables the manager of your webpage to conduct routine content updates, which keeps the site dynamic and attractive to new and existing users and allows content authors to publish material without having to learn new skills. This removes the need for having to hire an expensive contractor, so you can implement changes when they are required without having to think about the expense. Effectively, a good, integrated CMS allows you to take control of your site. Integrated CMS systems can be expensive, but the overall cost of ownership of the site will be dramatically reduced over time. Here are a couple of things to look out for in reviewing any prospective CMS package:
This article provides a comprehensive outline of the benefits of employing a CMS for your web site and the particular areas you should look at to ensure that you have the right CMS working for you. The best of luck in hiring a provider who can build a CMS that fits your company like a fine Saville Row suit!
