Start Blogging Your Way To The Bank
My name is Steven Sires.
I recently (like two months ago) bought a copy of Rob Benwell's Blogging to the bank. I found it quite interesting that this dude isn't an internet marketing guru, but managed to make some really decent money using blogs. He's just a regular guy (like me), and his decision to change his financial situation was to come up with something creative using weblogs.
Now, I'm familiar with the basic workings of the weblog , but there were more than a few things in this book that made me question just how much I really knew. My blogs are already making me decent affiliate money, but I don't think that I was using them the way that they can be used.
But the chapters that I think I liked the most were "Blogging SEO tips" and "How to flood your weblog with targeted traffic". To me, those were among the most important chapters. I believe that anybody who wants to make money online with a weblog or a web site, should know a few great tips. Lots of programs and ebooks tell you about SEO but Rob Benwell explains this in such detailed instructions, it would be extremely difficult NOT to understand. He explains getting increased traffic in the same manner. Rob explains a few proven methods of getting targeted traffic to your weblog . I got amazing results from these tips.
I'm now making astounding affiliate profits from my weblog . I'm so very impressed, and I know that if I can do this, anyone can. I absolutely recommend Blogging To The Bank for making your weblog work for you.

Make Money Blogging.
A free weblog is an excellent way of beginning your online empire. Costs are low and potential returns are high.
Getting started is easy. Just head over to www.blogger.com and setup your weblog . Alternatively if you want a more feature rich platform, consider getting your own domain and web hosting so you can take advantage of freeware like Wordpress. Many people start with Blogger then move to Wordpress once they grow in confidence,
Pick a topic you are really interested in and which has good keyword traffic (these are the words people use to search for things in search engines). DigitalPoint has a free keyword tool that is very easy to use. You can also check your keyword (or tag) out at Technorati to see how popular it is. In general, the most popular keywords are the most profitable.
Now, all you need to do, is ensure you post something every day, then when the post is done tell the world that you have updated your weblog . You do this by issuing a 'ping'. Platforms like Wordpress do this automatically. If you use Blogger then you must use a service like Pingomatic to do it for you.
As the number of your posts increase, search engines will regularly stop by to pick up new content. Your visitors will begin to grow. Your objective is to get as many visitors as possible to visit your weblog . The more people who visit your weblog the more money you will make.
Make no mistake, the opportunity is there. The top blogs make in excess of $10,000 per month. But be warned, there are no shortcuts. Lots of hard work, unique fresh content and a dash of inspiration and you too can achieve these returns.
By now you will have put in the hard work to develop your weblog. It's become a labor of love. Now its time for all that hard work to pay off. Here are some suggestions for making money with your weblog :
(1) One of the most popular methods of making money with blogs is to host ads. Google Adsense is a good example. You let Google put their ads on your site and get paid when people click on the ads. Other advertising works in a similar way. Blogads, Adbrite, Chikita and Double click are other examples of paid advertising.
(2) For a fee you can allow people to place links to their weblog or web site on your weblog . These advertising positions can be sold on Ebay, via somewhere like TextLink Brokers or directly from your site.
(3) Affiliate programs work on blogs as well as they work on web sites. Affiliate with companies that sell products related to your site. When people click on the link in your weblog and purchase a product, you profit. This is another way of making money online with blogs that doesn't cost you anything. If you are passionate about a product and write about it, this can work very well.
(4) If you have a web site, weblog about some aspect of it and provide a link. Your weblog can effectively sell the product, and all the customer has to do is click to your site and order it.
There are many ways to make money with your weblog . I hope this simple guide helps you on the way to earning a good return.
As a parting piece of advice, don't believe the hype you read. There are no short cuts. You are unlikely to make instant, riches, but with some hard work and great content, you can generate a good additional income from your weblog .
Blogging - What's in it for You?
Is making money blogging even possible, and a full-time income at that?
Well, I've been reading an e-book that talks all about making money BLOGGING. It's called Blogging to the Bank.
According to this book, making money doesn't necessarily come from blogging insomuch as it comes from advertisements (affiliate links, etc.) optimally placed in and around your weblog . You also have to have a specific focus for your weblog , one that people will want to read about.
Of course, you can have more than one weblog talking about more than one topic, but the money seems to be in focused/targeted topics. It is a somewhat aggressive approach to blogging since you are actually having to weblog about topics that will make you money. That way you will get targeted traffic to your site, traffic that will more than likely click on your links (Google Adsense links, affiliate links, etc.) since they are interested in the information in your weblog .
That's where the blogging money is. This book very simply explains what I would consider very advanced techniques on how to get your site search engine optimized (Woohoo...I just learned about this - SEO) and how to get targeted traffic to your site. It even goes step by step in demonstrating how to select the right market and affiliate program that will guarantee huge commissions with your weblog or blogs.
Now I personally don't like the word "guarantee", but I've jumped in and after reading this book am willing to find out if it's true. I haven't completely implemented all of the steps into my weblog experience, but it is certainly part of my plan over the next few days.
I am sure it is something anyone wanting to learn about making money blogging would be interested in!
How blogging impacts mainstream marketing
Because I'm a journalist and copywriter who also reads and writes blogs, people who don't use the Internet as much as I do have started to ask me some searching questions of late. Some of them sound worried.
They have heard a lot about blogging and the impact it could have on traditional marketing.
One person even asked me (perhaps a little concerned) if PR teams will be replaced with bloggers. I don't see it, I reassured them.
PR is also about managing people and that will always be important. The mainstream media isn't about to disappear, and the majority of the population probably couldn't care less about blogs. For all the hype, blogging should be seen as a potential addition to a marketing portfolio.
The place blogging may have its biggest impact is on areas of the trade press.
There is a revolution in publishing taking place, sparked by the new forms of advertising such as Google ad sense. This has made it possible for someone running a weblog site, with a staff of one and overheads of almost nothing, to start earning a living from their publishing. If the blogger can get readers, then Google places the ads (relevant to the content) - and you have a publishing business. This gives a lot of people an incentive to provide great content - so that they get more readers, and more money from ads. It's just like the traditional press, but without the need for offices, advertising sales teams, HR departments etc.
This works best in niche areas. Soon, there may not be much need for magazines about new gadgets, or mobile phones, or ride-on-lawn mowers or whatever. Because the blogs have it covered, providing more up-to-date information and readers who are ready to buy - and can simply click on the advert.
The everyday bloggers have a new-found power and are not about to go away. Some blogs now get millions, even tens of millions of readers a day. They are rivalling the mainstream media - and if the US government can't control them, what chance does a small company or even a big enterprise have?
Companies and blogs
It's still pretty early days for companies using blogs, and the whole thing is evolving. It will probably settle down into one more piece in the jigsaw, another communication channel that companies can use.
The style used in company blogs needs to be less "written by committee" and more personal and spontaneous.
Companies that try to use too much subterfuge in the blogging world are exposing themselves to a potential backlash. There's a great emphasis on honesty in the blogging world - for example bloggers will often end a post with a "disclosure" note which mentions any conflict of interest.
At a simple level, blogging can be seen as simply another way of publishing information on the Internet. It's useful because it is so fast and it's easy to get a range of people involved quite quickly.
However, there are real skills involved to good blogging. Not only does the writing have to be engaging, colourful, funny, informative etc, but the writer also needs to take account of search engine optimisation techniques - which basically means using the right keywords to ensure the weblog shows up in the search engines.
At it's most sophisticated, blogging is being used to create "viral marketing" campaigns - to create a "buzz" around a product as though this were coming from ordinary people. This is a whole new field of marketing / advertising...

Blogging for Newbies Copyright 2005 Brenda Lilly
Bogging, everyone's heard of it. The Internet pro's tell us it is important, but why? Well first let's start with what Blogging is. Blogging is considered a personal online journal. You select a subject that interests you and is relevant to your online business. You make daily entries on your Blog that will be of interest to web users searching for information on your particular subject.
For example, my URL is www.robertallenonline.net Obviously by the title my web site has to do with best selling author Robert G. Allen i.e.: Multiple Streams of Income. Therefore I have created a webblog http://teamrobertallen.blogspot.com/ Daily I post points of interest about Robert Allen.
What this accomplishes is the search engines visit my weblog to crawl the new content. They also follow the links from my Blog pointing to other sites. Some of these links point to my sites and some point to sites of partners. This helps the search engine rankings of these sites immensely.
How do you start your own Blog? There are many places you can start your weblog . You can do a search on Blogs and get many listings. I personally use www.Blogger.com. The first reason it's free. The second and biggest reason is Google owns it. That means Google will index web pages hosted on their servers often and fast.
My experience has been Blogger.com is very user friendly. The Blog is easy to create and easy to update. Both things newbies really appreciate. You can also set up to run Google Ad Sense ads on your weblog . Which will create an additional stream of income to you.
Armed with this information - take the leap and start Blogging today. There is always going to be ways to optimize and produce more from your Blog. You'll get there, just take your first step. To quote Dennis Waitley, "By the inch it's a cinch, by the yard it's hard". Happy Blogging.
