Blogging for Dollars

A short definition of blogging:

A "blog" (derived from the term "web log") is basically just a web site -- with two key differences:

First, it's extremely easy to add information to it. A weblog is like an online journal, so you just log in, type what happened today, post it, and you're done!

Second (this is the really cool part) you can add a simple little feature that automatically tells a whole bunch of other web sites that you've made an update to your weblog -- every time you make a change!

Blogging has actually been around since the 1990s. However, it didn't start to gain popularity until 2003, when mighty Google got involved...

These days, getting a #1 ranking in the search engines is MUCH more difficult.

rss RSSUnderground Editor's Tip! Hey - do you want to have a free hosted web site that you can use for anything you want? The only catch is that these guys show an Adsense ad at the top of the page - but so what! You can still use it to promote your business or other web sites! I do not make any money from telling you this - just the satsisfaction of knowing I am helping my fellow webmasters and marketers find quality free web hosting! Look at my free site - Espanol Articulous. I haven't done much with it yet but it is a real site and you even get proper FTP so you can upload images and pages without having to use a clunky file manager! Check it out! It's worth it - it's free!

There are literally BILLIONS of competing web sites, so until blogs came along recently, you only had two options for guaranteeing yourself a #1 ranking in the search engines (FAST):

In the OLD days, you only had TWO choices:

#1 You could buy your way to the top with pay-per-click campaigns (this strategy is effective and fast, but obviously, it eats away at your bottom-line profits!)...

#2 Or, you could spend thousands of dollars on search engine optimization (SEO) specialists, and get them to do all the grunt work for you.

But in this case, it could take MONTHS before you see any results... and even then, with all that money invested, your results still aren't guaranteed!

Fortunately, thanks to blogging, there's now a BETTER option.

Using a weblog to advertise a business is also a great tool that anyone can do with ease.

Take me for example I created 3 very popular Dog Training related web sites (seen below) and promote them for free using my weblog .

Anyone can set up a weblog and use them to earn an extra income either promoting affiliate programs or your own product.

One thing is for certain if you are not using a weblog or not using it to it's full potential you are missing out on a great opportunity.

Blogging for Dollars - Writing About Hot Topics

Blogs move so much faster than your traditional idea of static web sites. Because of their RSS/Atom feeds, they're picked up within days and even sometimes within hours by the search engines. This makes blogging about topics that are current and time stamped available, allowing access to the information before it's "old news".

A profitable way of blogging is on topics that are hot right now. For example, while the Olympics were going, a little known blogger took it upon themselves to talk about it - include some tidbits about people, the sports, the newsworthy drama, and while the Olympics were still going on, their weblog was making about $100 to $200 a day.

Take American Idol as an example, too. Every day, the term "american idol" is searched for 34,857 times a day (according to Overture)! Popular TV shows get thousands of searches each and every day, as well as current political topics and news and large events going on in the world.

Basically, anything that's getting any kind of news coverage can bring in people looking for more information about it through search engines.

It doesn't stop at search engines, though. When you write about topics that are hot right now, you can submit your weblog entry to other places online that are compiling information based around that topic. There are sites who's main purpose is being a link directory to other sites with information on topics that people are interested in.

When going this route, though, you are competing with a lot of other current information. This type of blogging requires putting more time into your keywords to rank high with search engines, as well as overall search engine optimization.

Free Content Articles - Microsoft recently announced that they will be releasing a new browser version sometime this summer. The new browser version was to be released with Longhorn, the code name for their next operating system to replace Windows XP, but they decided that they needed to release it sooner than that.

Xml Format - As web developers know all too well, basic HTML (HyperText Markup Language) doesn't provide any structure to Web pages, and the formatting is mixed with the content. To allow Web pages to be structured for automated processing (e.g. electronic commerce), the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) developed an enhancement to HTML.

Deep Content - You clicked on this article, and now you're diving right in for a hearty read. Why'd you do that? Because I sucked you in with my "direct markety" headline. Now, before you go running away in defiance of being manipulated, know that this is a trick you can use on YOUR articles to get other people to read them and hear what you have to say.

Resources Article - So you've decided to beef up your web site by adding an XML feed. This is a great idea; whether you maintain a personal blog or operate an independent news site, adding an XML feed is a surefire way to keep your RSS-friendly readers in the know.

Rss Resources - As you search around this article site looking for articles to add to your web site, consider this: there are probably 10 people like yourself doing the same exact thing. Not only are they doing the same exact thing, but they are probably looking at, and taking the same articles you are considering to add to their site.

Dynamic Content - The only problem I have with free articles is that you have to add the writers resource box to your site. Now this in itself is not a major problem. You could read several articles and then make your own in your own words. This works well and is a quick and easy content building strategy that I would recommend to anybody.

Creating Quality Content - In the western side of the world and in developed countries, many business establishments have not only their physical building present in the business area but also their online stores. Everyone who has access to the internet can buy almost everything that he needs. Clothes, gifts items, book, CDs, VCD, DVDs, and even the food that he wants to eat, he can buy it on the internet.

Private Label - Furthermore, this also allows for information to be traded and for web sites to grow. With an AdSense site, your page can easily be placed in search engines when people look for a related item. Your web site can be indexed in an advantageous way possible.
