Blogging To Boost Your Business

Writing a weblog is a vital part of marketing your business in today's online world. Not only is it free, but it is fast becoming the top internet marketing tool, not to mention, it's fun! People write blogs for a variety of reasons - to express themselves, be heard, or offer tips, techniques, and information on any subject that interests them. If you own a web site, blogging cannot be ignored, as it is one of the best ways of generating traffic to your site.

How can a weblog boost your business? First of all, if your weblog is keyword-rich, the search engine spiders will visit your site's quality content, especially if you update and ping your weblog regularly, once a week at the very least. Once the search engines see that you make regular posts, your site cannot be ignored, especially if you offer information that is useful and valuable. It doesn't hurt to post to your weblog every day if you can, and track your keywords with a keyword tracking tool to make sure you're using the best keywords possible.

Other people will visit your weblog if you have a Blogger, Wordpress, or other account. Some people have their blogs hosted right on their web site. It's a good idea to post your weblog to many of the top weblog directories. When your weblog site is submitted, this allows others to find your site and your links. It's another way of making your links visible to the internet world. Your topic is placed within a category, such as "Online Business", and can be searched by those looking for blogs on that subject. This can create huge traffic for you and your sites. You can also post your blogs to forums with your links at the end, so that if you provide some helpful advice, people will be tempted to click on your links, thereby generating more traffic and potential sales for you.

Another useful place to post your blogs is on blogger submission sites. At sites like these, you post your weblog URL and description, which is categorized for other people to search for your weblog topic specifically and make comments on it. Many people don't realize the importance of making comments to other people's blogs, and keeping track of and responding to the comments people submit to your blogs. You want to try and create an ongoing communication, not just a static weblog . The more other people see your weblog being commented on, the more importance they give the topic, and the more traffic you will create. You want your readership to grow in leaps and bounds and this is the way to do it! Don't make your site a static one, and try to generate as much communication around your posts as possible.

Finally, a useful technique growing in popularity lately is adding adsense ads and banners to your weblog to generate clicks and additional income for you. Optimizing your blogs by adding links to other areas of your site or other sites that don't necessarily have to be blogs will get your other links noticed and indexed faster.

Blogging to the Bank

Blogging is the new way to deliver information on the internet, and is exactly what people have been looking for. The word weblog comes from the phrase "web log", but combined together. So what is a weblog and how can you earn money from them?

Well blogging is great because it is free, you don't have to know HTML and you don't have to pay for visitors to your weblog . The way to make money from blogs is simple, affiliate and advertising commissions. When a visitor comes to your weblog , they can click on an affiliate product link, and you earn a commission when they buy. If you choose to do advertising too, you get a percentage of what the advertiser pays per click. Blogging can also be pretty fun, especially if you make the weblog about something that you like.

The best thing about blogging is the fact that it automatically draws visitors to your site, since the free weblog providers are crawled by the search engines on a daily basis. So you add some information, the search engines come and add it to their results, then when people search for that same info they arrive at your weblog . The more you add to your weblog , the more traffic you will get to it. Also, if you make a really good weblog that has good information, then people will bookmark it and come back often, maybe even daily.

When it comes to making money from your weblog , there are actually multiple streams of income that you can create. Usually people put Google Ads on their page, and earn a percentage of what the advertiser pays per click, when a visitor clicks on the ad. Pay per click advertising programs, like Google AdSense, are in my opinion, the best way to make money from the internet. Yes, you only make a few cents per click, and from a product you get dollars per sale, but selling products is not as easy as it sounds. You have to know how to write a sales letter and properly pre sell them. Advertisements require no expertise, just content and information that you already know.

That brings me to my next point, choose your topics wisely. The best thing to do is to make a weblog about something you already know about, this way you won't lose interest quickly and it will keep you coming up with new ideas all the time. Basically, make a weblog about your hobby or something that you like to do in your free time, or a topic that you just like to talk about. My favorite part of my blogs is that I learn something new just about everyday!

The only problem with blogging for profit is that too many people do it wrong and end up getting banned or something from the search engines, or worst yet, their weblog host. No visitors mean no money, so if that happens then you will lose all of your profits.

A book by Rob Benwell, called Blogging to the Bank, is a great guide that will teach any beginner how to make money from free blogs. This means you will save time and frustration of writing a weblog , then later getting it banned and removed.

I hope that I have helped you get a better understanding of blogs and making money online. My goal is to only help people make money on the internet the best way possible, and I feel blogs is the way to go for any newbie to internet marketing.

The Right Blogging Platform

Choosing which blogging platform to use is one of the most important decisions that you can make as a blogger. The right platform can make blogging a breeze, and the wrong platform can make blogging a chore. Because the program that you use to weblog with is such a powerful part of your blogging experience, it is well worth putting in the time to find a platform that provides your ideal balance between a user-friendly interface and a flexible framework that allows you to make your weblog look and feel unique. Finding the right platform isn't always easy, but with a little bit of contemplation and a little bit of research, you will be on your way to finding the perfect blogging platform.

Deciding what your priorities are in terms of ease of use versus customization. Most highly customizable blogging platforms, like moveable type, are a bit more difficult to use than very automated platforms like wordpress. If you are new to blogs and to internet technology, you might want to sacrifice the ability to create a custom background design or to integrate a unique font into your template in order to find a program that will be easy for you to use. On the other hand, if you are a veteran web designer with knowledge of html or javascript, you will probably find the limitations of a user-friendly platform to be frustrating.

There is no such thing as a blogging platform that is objectively the best platform, because every blogger has unique needs. The blogging movement is very much about individuality, so it makes plenty of sense that there would be many different platforms available that are designed to meet the needs of different kinds of individuals undertaking different kinds of projects. This diversity is a good thing, because it means that you will almost certainly be able to find a program that suits your level of technical aptitude.

However, the fact that no two bloggers need the same thing from a blogging platform can make your search for the right platform a bit tricky. When you are reading reviews of different platforms, try to keep your priorities in mind and do your best to take into account the position that the reviewer is coming from. For example, a negative review written by an accomplished software designer who complains that a popular platform is too limited may tell you that the platform in question is ideal for a beginning blogger. There is no such thing as the perfect platform for everybody, so instead of looking for the "best" platform, look for the best platform for your specific criteria.
